Dragon Related Tir Rumblings?

All you elven runners out there probably already know this, and any of you who have more info, we'd all like to hear it (I'm looking at you, Ancients). Seems that something is twisting the nipples of the high and mighty Council of Princes pretty badly, as they have inexplicably decided to postpone this years Rite of Progression.
For those of you not in the know, the people in the Tir aren't citizens, they're subject's. It's an autocracy, remember. They don't have "rights," they have "privileges" which can be modified or revoked at any time. Every Tir subject has an official social rank that affects what privileges you have. It affects access to housing, education, jobs, travel permits, taxes and a whole lot more.
Social ranks start at Gentry for the masses and move up through Chivalry, Nobles, drekcetera, to the Royal rank. Technically, the High Princes are the top rank. Oh, and don't forget the Irenis, or "classless."
Tir subjects inherit their social rank from thier parents, but if you want to advance up the ladder, you have to prove yourself in a Rite of Progression. These rites are a battery of physical and academic tests, plus political lobbying, and only occur every seven years.
So, if you're a Tir elf who wanted to advance up the totem pole, this year was your big chance. Except, oh wait, no Rite. Needless to say, a frakload of elves are NOT happy. The Council of Princes has given no explanation for the postponing of the big shindig, but I'm hearing rumors that Dunkelzahn throwing his dragon-sized hat into the presidential ring is responsible. If you have info, or even conjecture, now's the time to spit it out.

Frak the Rite, why won't a slang teacher slang tang on Crater Lake? The Tir post said they had giant blocks the size of apartment buildings fracking floating over the lake! Who cares if the elves can't get titles, what the frak is going on with that thing?
It's the same reason. The elves don't want to enlighten the masses this year for fear that the Atlantean artifacts in Dunkelzahn's possession might fall into the hands of the Gnomes of Zurich-Orbital, which will let the Illuminati find the ancient, deep evil that lives in Crater Lake and harness its power to grant immortality to all the "lesser" races. Well...for my part, I always kinda thought the right of progression was silly, but, then, I wasn't born in one of the lower ranks.
The Tirs are nothing but a ridiculous throwback to the feudalism we threw off centuries ago. They cripple their own economy with the strictures they put on the corporations that provide jobs and goods for all of us. As an elf, I am offended that they perpetrate this folly in my name. They should let go of this mysticism and move into the 21st century with the rest of us.

The Tirs are really just a Humanis Policlub for elves. Organized, legitimized racism. When have racist organizations ever made rational choices based on the well being of, well, anyone? Feudalism is giving them too much credit.

Granted Veneer, but I'm not some conspiracy theorist nutjob who jumps at his own shadow. I am concerned with the very reasonable and well founded notion that the dragons in and of themselves represent the greatest danger to mankind (or even meta-mankind) in our already VERY dangerous world. This definitely seems like something to pay attention to, I'm not exactly sure of all of the implications, but I'm also not sure why Cap chooses to draw a connection (or possible connection) to the fact that there is a dragon involved in the UCAS presidential campaign. The only connection I see is timing, which is most likely coincidental.
There's got to be an external reason. They must have thought terrorists would infiltrate the games or some such. The ruling classes decide who does "well" in the Rite anyway, so they can just say "no advancement this year." Canceling the Rite like this serves no purpose, other than to completely upset the people of the Tir. Unless that's the point.
Maybe that's exactly what Lofwyr wants? I've long believed that his seat on the council was just so he can keep an eye on the elves. Maybe he and Dunkelzahn are getting the Tir ready for removal?
